A mortar inspired by the old centre of The Hague. The fascinating thing the Centre of The Hague is completely new and looks nothing like how it was back in the day. By taking one small aspect of the history, Manon wanted people to bring an object in to home which makes you experience a piece of the history.
There was a lot of trade in this area including the trading of a lot of herbs, which came into the city from different parts of the world. By making people aware of the history of trading, she made a mortar to crush herbs, to let people work with them, rather than using processed herbs which you can buy in a supermarket.
