Freeze Frame

Every spectator interprets images differently. Freeze framing at exactly the right moment amplifies the suggestion of movement. This process arouses curiosity and nourishes the imagination.

Frozen moments and open ends spark a dialogue between my objects and the spectator. This invites spectators to explore, to use their imagination and to finish the action mentally. The visual exploration of 'Freeze Frame'  allows for questioning intentions,  functions  and sparks imagination.

My project explores this through a series of three furniture objects resulting from the interplay between process, suitable material, and the recognition of  the right moment to stop. I capture the tension by pulling the mold through  a liquid paste.
